Food Environments for Planetary Health (Food-PlanetH)

The Food-PlanetH project aims to contribute to the creation of food environments that are supportive of healthy and sustainable diets, defined as diets that maximize human health and well-being while minimizing the food system’s environmental footprint. Our goal is to make healthy and sustainable food choices available, accessible, attractive, and affordable for all.

We do so by focusing on key policies with potential for a large, population-level and system-wide impact, and on strategic research questions essential for resolving implementation bottlenecks. Throughout the project, we take a planetary health perspective, considering human health and environmental sustainability and their interdependencies in a systemic context. We work closely with policy and practice stakeholders, and combine scientific rigour with a focus on policy impact.
